PEPR MIE 2025 - Strand 3: Enabling public policies and society to cope with epidemic crises

The ANRS MIE is launching the third call for proposals of the PEPR MIE, Measure 2 of the Strategy for Accelerating Emerging Infectious Diseases and Nuclear, Radiological, Biological and Chemical Threats supported by France 2030.

This 2025 call for proposals aims to continue the research efforts initiated with the 2023 and 2024 call for proposals, focusing on the three priority areas of the PEPR:

  • Strand 1 - Accelerating the acquisition of knowledge about MIEs,
  • Strand 2 - Organising and developing new treatments, vaccines and other prevention, diagnostic and surveillance tools for MIEs,
  • Strand 3 - Enabling public policy and society to cope with epidemic crises

Projects must be interdisciplinary and multi-partner, focusing on arboviroses, viral haemorrhagic fevers and emerging or re-emerging respiratory viruses, and last between 2 and 3 years.

The minimum funding per project is €1 million for strands 1 and 2, with no minimum requirement for strand 3. Proposals must be submitted in English via the Apogée platform between 2 May and 30 June 2025 using the dedicated public forms.

The PAA 2025 envisages a more focused approach on three categories of emerging or re-emerging infectious diseases presenting a high risk of a health crisis in France:

  • Arboviroses,
  • Viral haemorrhagic fevers and
  • Respiratory viruses

The call is open from 2 May to 30 June 2025.
