Emerging infectious diseases" strategy day: three years of action to be ready for tomorrow - 30 September 2024 - Corum, Montpellier

Le 30 septembre 2024, l’équipe de la ZACAM et tous les partenaires du Consortium ZOOCAM étaient présents à Montpellier, à la journée nationale « Stratégie d’accélération maladies infectieuses émergentes » coorganisée par l’IRD avec l’ANRS, Prezode, le Cirad et l’INRAE, célébrant les « 3 ans d’actions menées pour être prêts demain », dans le cadre du plan d’action France 2030.

Cette journée d’échange visait à faire un point d’étape sur l’avancement des différentes actions menées sur les volets recherche, innovation, industrialisation et formation, a permis de rencontrer les lauréats France 2030 (dont ZOOCAM dans le cadre du PEPR PREZODE1), et dresser ensemble les perspectives des travaux à consolider ou à initier avec pour objectif de hisser la France sur le podium européen en matière de réponses aux crises, grâce à une stratégie coordonnées axée sur une anticipation proactive.

La journée a réuni plus de 250 participants autour de sessions consacrées aux volets Recherche, Innovation, Industrialisation, Gestion de crise et Formation. Illustrées par des présentations des différents lauréats ainsi que par des posters des projets lauréats, elles ont permis d’aborder concrètement l’avancement de leurs projets. A cette occasion, notre équipe a eu l’occasion de présenter sous forme de poster le projet ZOOCAM, lors des séances de networking tout au long de la journée et d’échanger avec l’ensemble de la communauté dans la perspective de collaborations futures.

The Salt Trial is a territorial fiction that looks at salt as an environmental motif accused in a fictitious trial, inviting all the living people of the Camargue to testify. The trial is a unifying event, creating a shared narrative. This action-research project aims to break down the barriers between different approaches, by recognising and questioning a wide range of vernacular knowledge and know-how, and involving players from all sectors. It explores the possibilities for adapting and transforming human activities in the Camargue in the face of salinisation of the environment and climate change, and aims to trigger social change around the challenges of ecological transition.

This is the original idea behind the Salt Trial, a ground-breaking initiative exploring the possibilities for adapting and transforming human activities in the Camargue in the face of salinisation of the environment and climate change.

A story to rethink biodiversity in the Camargue

Next November, researchers, artists, elected representatives, residents and users will gather at Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer for a mock trial, giving all members of the local Camargue community the opportunity to testify on the region's current ecological problems.

The aim? To tell the story of a negotiation between diverse interests and divergent visions to preserve the Camargue ecosystem, which has been weakened by climate upheaval and the use of its resources.

The Salt Trial is therefore an inspiring model of ecological education, showing that art can be a powerful force for constructive debate.
